Scott Fithian joined the Lord Companies in 1999. He brings
strong sales, marketing , strategic planning and project
management expertise from his prior experiences in real
estate development, corporate sales & marketing, and
management consulting.
At The Lord Companies, Scott has focused on brokerage and
consulting for small- to medium-size retail and mixed-use
developments. He represents a wide range of owners and
developers of new and rehabbed properties. In his consulting
capacity, Scott advises clients throughout the development
process, from developing the initial business plans and pro
formas, all the way through to final tenant build-out.
Scott has also Completed several new real estate development
projects including an award-winning new construction
townhouse project in the Lincoln Square area, the conversion of
a former storage building to a loft office building in the West
Loop and the conversion of a 110 unit mixed-use apartment
building in River North to condos and free-standing commercial
spaces.
Scott’s primary focus is the Chicago urban market, with a
particular expertise in the "collar" neighborhoods surrounding
the Loop. He has been a consistent top performer, including
being the top commercial producer in the Lake View and
Lincoln Park neighborhoods. Scott and his partner, Keith Lord,
were recently recognized as Chicago's top retail leasing
owner's representation brokers by CommercialForum
(sponsored by the Chicago Association of Realtors).
Prior to joining The Lord Companies, Scott ran his own real
estate development company where he did new multi-family
construction. He was also the Managing Director of SFA
Advisory Group, a sales and marketing consulting firm which he
established in 1994. Overall, Scott had nearly 20 years of experience in the medical / healthcare/life sciences industry. This
included 10 years of senior sales, marketing, strategic planning and business development experience with both large and small
companies, including Abbott Laboratories, Membrex, Serono-Baker Diagnostics, and Thermo Electron, plus nearly 10 years in
management consulting and as a medical device industry analyst on Wall Street with Lehman Brothers.
Scott earned an MBA in Finance and Strategy from Harvard Business School in 1980. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the
University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of General Studies degree in Political Economics in 1976.
